There are many tears in the world today
Most are from a love that you let slip away
Think back for a moment and you'll remember that day
He was just a young guy who was living his life
One day he met her and she changed his life
She had dark hair - she was beautiful
He fell in love the minute that he saw her smile
They went on so many walks and had many talks
About her old boyfriends who never treated her right
He helped her and talked with hers many hours
If only he had told her how he felt about her
Dana wears dresses in the sunlight
She wears them with the stars under the moon light
She wears them while she thinks of him and wishes he would
Have told her that he loved her like she loved him too
He sits in his chair and wrings his hands today
Thinking of the love that he let slip away
He wonders if she ever thinks about him
Like he thinks about her every second of days
He thinks about many times they walked around
Looking at the stars and saying star bright

All that now remains is feeling empty inside
The hope that she loves him - and the hope that he loves her
The hope that someday they will see each other again some day
There's enough tears to flood your world away
To kick yourself for not telling that you feel that way
There's a star in the night that he remember's seeing
It's the star that they each wished on, both wishing it true
